Hutch is a very gentle calm boy who gets on with everybody. He was very thin and is slowly putting on weight. He is social with other dogs and even good with cats! Wilson is a chunky handsome boy. He was a bit nervous around people when he came from the pound but is much more relaxed now. He had very sore ears which now have proper care. Wilson is social with other dogs and is even good with cats. He has a non-shedding coat and weighs 10.7kg. He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. His adoption cost is $300. Tom - Cocker Spaniel - 8 years

Tom is an affectionate Cocker Spaniel with a gentle, cuddly nature rescued from a Sydney Pound. He is a Senior boy, probably around 8-9 years of age.

Tom would suit an older couple or single person who is at home most of the day to keep him company.

He loves to ride in the car, sleep in the shade on his trampoline, potter in the garden, and eat a hearty meal!

Tom is micro-chipped, desexed, wormed, flea treated and vaccinated. He has just had a dental and his teeth are now in top condition.

Rocky - Poodle Blend - 14 years

Rocky was brought in for euthanasia at a Sydney Pound. He was 14 years old with a large tumour on the side of his neck.

A volunteer took him to her vet and had extensive surgery done: the tumour was sent away to Pathology, and the results came back: benign.

Rocky has been in care for 6 weeks now. He has never complained. The wound has healed, he has gained strength and has started to enjoy walks and little games with his carer.

Rocky would love to live with someone who will take him for a stroll each day, play with him, rub his tummy, and feed him all sorts of treats!!

He comes micro-chipped, desexed, heartworm free, wormed, and flea-treated with the most gorgeous gentle and stoic personality.

Donation towards veterinary fees is $250.

Freddo - Pomeranian - Male - 11 years

Freddo is a very tiny, very sweet little man aged 11 years. He was handed in to the Pound when his elderly owner died. His best friend is Limpet,
who is also on the Petrescue website.

He would suit an older couple or person who is mostly at home so he can relax in the garden, go for walks, enjoy the fresh air
and be a loyal little companion.

Freddo loves to be held and told how handsome he is! He gets on very well with other dogs.

Freddo is micro-chipped, wormed, heartworm free, flea-treated, and desexed. He had a full dental a few days ago and his mouth is good.

Preference will be given to a loving family who will keep the 2 dogs together.

Barney
Male Corgi x Cattle Dog - 8+ years

Barney was abandoned as a young dog left to wander the streets all alone. The resident store owner felt sorry for him so would leave food out for him. However Barney belonged to no-one. Barney had to find different places to sleep at night to stay dry and warm.
Anne a DCH Animal Adoption foster career noticed that Barney always seemed to hang around this store and when she equired with the owner of the store he informed her that Barney had been abandoned some years ago and had continued to hang around the local Streets. Barney then came into DCH Animal Adoptions care. For the first few days Barney was very sad and depressed as he was unsure of what was going on and he did not understand English very well. However after a few days he began to trust and he started to relax settling in and making himself at home. Now after being in care for about a month Barney has completely changed and is a very happy confident dog who loves human company but equally enjoys playing and hanging out with his new found canine friends. He is very gentle with children and when anyone gives him attention he laps it up. Barney doesnt really like his feline friends as he feels that they are put on earth to chase (not harm) but chase.
Generally Barney is now a well adjusted happy dog who has learnt after all this time to be a dog and hang out in a back yard where he gets plenty of Love, food, shelter and companionship without having to try to hard.

BillyBob is such a happy friendly boy. He acts as if he is much younger than 8 years. His ideal family would be one who takes him in and treats him as part of the family. He loves other dogs and people in general. He likes to be outside and inside when you are home and just loves to be with you. He would not suit being in the backyard all the time or not with ‘the pack’. He is a loving little fellow and so funny. He weighs 9.2kg. Buddy celebrated his ninth birthday at the end of October and one week later was surrendered to the local pound.  He is now at the home of a foster carer who advises that this is one sweet boy.  Buddy is happy to be around the other dogs, walks beautifully on lead, travels well in the car, is housetrained and knows how to use a doggie door.  This lovely boy has obviously been well loved and well trained and according to his foster Mum is a delight to have around the home. If you are looking for a companion to share your life this is the boy for you.

Rusty - Golden Retriever - Male - 11 years

Eleven year old Rusty has been previously advertised with eight year old Bella but their family has advised that to rehome their dogs quicker they would like them offered separately.

Rusty is an eleven year old gentleman who is very laid back and calm. Rusty walks beautifully on a lead and is very patient when it comes to other dogs. Rusty is one relaxed, laid back boy who just prefers a quiet life. Rusty does not enjoy storms and while he is not destructive prefers to be in a safe place or inside, close to his family.

Rusty has been raised with a four and two year old child and is wonderful with small children. Meal times are great as Rusty has been taught to sit and wait before being told to eat.

Floyd was left in an overgrown and neglected state for a long time but went straight to the vet from the Pound where he had his hair clipped off and a dental to clean and remove some teeth so he is feeling much better now! Floyd is shy when he first meets new people but soon warms up as he loves lots of affection and will sit on your lap and lean into you. He really loves it when you wrap your arms around him and give him a big cuddle! Floyd is housetrained and exceptionally good on a lead as he loves to stroll beside you in a very gentle fashion. He would not mind being an only dog although he is very good with other dogs of either sex. Floyd has a high maintenance coat that will grow quickly so will require regular grooming. He is also a house dog who uses a doggy door with ease so must have access to the house at all times.  

Floyd comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed for the special adoption fee of $200 and is not available for adoption outside NSW. He has had a recent dental (teeth cleaned under anaesthetic) and a full blood profile taken.
